Job Description
Job Title: Rehabilitation Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
As a Rehabilitation Physical Therapy Assistant, your main role is to assist licensed Physical Therapists in providing superior and comprehensive physical therapy sessions to patients. You will work closely with patients to develop personalized rehabilitation programs that meet their individual needs and goals. You will help them to regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life. Your primary goal is to help patients achieve optimal results in their rehabilitation process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work directly with patients to implement rehabilitation programs designed by Physical Therapists
- Help patients increase their range of motion by assisting with exercises and other physical activities
- Observe and document patients' progress, including changes to mobility, strength, and range of motion
- Provide feedback to Physical Therapists on patients' progress and any changes that require treatment modification
- Assist in the preparation of treatment areas and equipment, including cleaning and maintenance
- Participate in patient education and training programs as directed by the Physical Therapist
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is completed timely
- Attend staff meetings and participate in training programs as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Active certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant
- Preferably at least 1-year experience as a Rehabilitation Physical Therapy Assistant
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Must be detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Knowledge of physical therapy techniques, equipment, and protocols
- Must be able to lift and assist patients as necessary
