Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with breathing disorders, providing education on respiratory care, and assisting with the management of ventilators and other respiratory equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of respiratory disorders and the ability to provide high-quality care to patients of all ages.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conducting patient assessments to determine respiratory needs
- Administering oxygen therapy and medications as prescribed
- Performing diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis
- Developing and implementing respiratory care plans
- Educating patients and their families on respiratory conditions and management techniques
- Monitoring and adjusting ventilator settings as needed
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Documenting patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Active Respiratory Therapist license in the state of practice
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Experience with ventilator management and respiratory care protocols
