Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer specializing in the deployment and support of secure network environments built primarily on Cisco and Fortinet solutions. In this role, you will design, implement, and support customer networks with a focus on both performance and security. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will deliver innovative and secure solutions that meet the evolving needs of the business while maintaining a robust security posture.
This position requires the employee to work primarily on-site in the office, with limited opportunities for remote work. Being physically present in the office allows for close collaboration with team members, hands-on engagement with equipment, and the ability to respond promptly to immediate needs. Flexibility for remote work may be considered occasionally, depending on business requirements and manager approval.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Sales Assistance:
- Collaborate with Solution Architects/Engineers to understand customer requirements and provide technical expertise during pre-sales discussions and presentations.
- Assist in developing network and security solution proposals, including solution architecture, hardware/software selection, and pricing.
- Address technical inquiries and concerns from prospective customers, offering insights and recommendations to meet their specific security and networking needs.
- Stay informed about industry trends, security threats, and competitive offerings to effectively position our solutions and differentiate them in the market.
Implementation:
- Design and plan the deployment of secure network solutions based on customer requirements and industry best practices.
- Configure and deploy networking and security equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPN appliances, and intrusion prevention/detection systems (IPS/IDS).
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of solutions to ensure functionality, performance, and security compliance.
- Collaborate with other teams to coordinate implementation activities while minimizing operational disruptions.
- Document configurations, security protocols, procedures, and best practices for future reference and troubleshooting.
Support Operations:
- Provide ongoing support for deployed network and security environments, addressing incidents, service requests, and change management activities.
- Troubleshoot network and security-related issues, diagnosing root causes and implementing corrective measures.
- Monitor network performance and security posture using advanced monitoring tools, performing proactive maintenance and threat detection.
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams or vendors while ensuring timely resolution and minimal business impact.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, service requests, and changes, adhering to established SLAs, KPIs, and security compliance requirements.
Service Development:
- Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to identify opportunities for enhancing network and security services and developing new features.
- Participate in service design and development initiatives, offering technical insights and recommendations to improve security and network offerings.
- Research emerging networking and security technologies and industry trends to inform service roadmaps and strategies.
- Contribute to service documentation, including user guides, security protocols, training materials, and knowledge base articles.
- Engage with customers and stakeholders to gather feedback and insights, driving continuous improvement of our network and security services.
Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on network security and solutions from Cisco, Cisco Meraki, and Fortinet.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routing and switching technologies (e.g., Cisco IOS, Catalyst, Nexus).
- Proficiency in deploying and managing Fortinet security appliances and features (e.g., FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager).
- Solid understanding of network security protocols and technologies, including IPS/IDS, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and DNS.
- Experience with security monitoring and management tools (e.g., Auvik, OpsRamp, SIEM solutions).
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE, or CISSP are highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Salary : $95,000 - $110,000
