Responsibilities
We are looking for candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit, drive for career advancement and desire to develop relationships, to join our team. The candidate will play a critical role in driving the growth and profitability of our Longshore program. Interested? Join our team!
- Build, maintain, and grow a book of marine construction business
- Manage agency relationships and serve as lead client contact
- Create and execute marketing plan to increase new and renewal business
- Develop each risk to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing for large or complex marine construction renewals as well as new business
- Develop and submit underwriting referrals to underwriting partner company
- Bind, quote, and maintain accounts
- Monitor key metrics to formulate corrective action impacting new business hit, renewal retention, premium growth, and loss ratio
- Regular national travel as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 years of commercial lines underwriting experience required, with some Ocean Marine experience preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in sales and marketing
- Proven organization skills and ability with a strong attention to detail
- Interest in continued education and professional development
- Insurance license, CPCU, CIC or comparable designations preferred
