What is the Opportunity
Exciting opportunity to join a growing team enhancing the cyber security of Canada’s largest bank!
This role is a Director level position: the Senior Security Architect will be reporting to the Chief Information Security Architect. This is a deep technical, leadership and delivery-oriented role with a focus on data protection, identity and access management and cyber threat management, within a multi-cloud/hybrid environment. The Senior Security Architect will design security capabilities and strengthen RBCs security posture for our staff and clients globally. This role works closely with Security, Infrastructure, Data, Business and Application Development teams. As RBC is driving towards a multi-cloud, Event/API and ML/AI based architecture, this role will ensure that the right security capabilities are incorporated into these platforms to create a secure, optimized, strategic RBC Technology platform. Must have a strong security engineering background as a basis for their architectural solutions and decisions. The role provides a unique opportunity to change the Bank and work with cutting edge technology.

What is the Opportunity?
As an Internal Audit Analyst-Capital Markets, you will provide coverage support for multiple businesses within RBC Capital Markets US primarily performing internal audit projects in a team-based environment to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with governmental regulations and may be asked to support continuous risk monitoring activities.
What will you do?
- Support internal audit coverage of the Capital Markets U.S. business with specialization of one or more underlying business units.
- Work in a team-based environment performing detailed audit steps including walkthroughs, sampling, design assessments and operational effectiveness testing of key controls.
- Ensure audits steps adhere to RBC internal audit methodology and the Institute of Internal Auditors Professional Practices Framework.
- Identify high value audit observations and working with audit management to communicate and gain agreement with audit stakeholders.
- Document findings and assess general impact on potential consequences of recommendations.
- Participate in complex and confidential/special audit projects enterprise wide as requested by RBC senior management.
- Ensure appropriate working paper evidence of findings is maintained.
- Support continuous monitoring activities including reviewing relevant data and attending meetings with key stakeholders.
- Support other internal Audit groups in execution of their audit plans as necessary.
Required
- University degree (preferably in a related field such as accounting or finance).
- Proven ability to produce well written work products and effective communication along with value added observations/recommendations.
- Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong problem solving and negotiating skills to mitigate conflicts arising from difficult situations.
- Proficient time management, organizational, and project management skills with ability to pivot when working on multiple deliverables with tight deadlines.
- Experience in financial services internal audit (preferably Banking).
- Working knowledge of Capital Markets lines of business (e.g., Global Markets, Investment Banking, Cash Management) and products (e.g., derivatives, repos, IPO, FX).
- Understanding of Data Analytics, data visualization and reporting.
- Knowledge of US regulatory standards, auditing standards and business processes in the financial securities environment.
- Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Public Accountant, or other relevant professional certifications.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Design practical security solutions for a multi-cloud and hybrid platforms, including data protection, identity and access management, platform security and other cyber controls. Be capable of providing hands-on engineering support to prove concepts and conduct POTs;
- Document Security Reference Architectures and roadmaps which provide guidance for Security and Engineering teams;
- Author patterns for data protection, identity and access management, application and infrastructure security, to increase reuse and facilitate cost optimization;
- Support the IT Risk teams in identifying and solving for security risks;
- Provide Security Solutions Architecture for applications and platforms;
- Support the execution of Enterprise Architecture Governance Framework;
- Communicate & promote Enterprise Architecture activities within the Community of Practice;
- Provide Technology Management and Governance of security technologies;
- Support Cyber Security programs;
- Serve as a trusted advisor and an SME to key business and technology partners.
Must have:
- Leadership behaviors and ability to command and influence an audience to adopt desired solutions. Must be delivery oriented, responsive to partners, quick to make informed decisions and demonstrate a sense of urgency;
- Must be solution oriented, offer consultative approach, able to understand the context and prescribe relevant solutions;
- 8 years Security Architecture experience in creating and managing enterprise security architectures and solutions, building strategies, target/reference architectures and roadmaps;
- 4 years of Engineering experience in application or platform development utilizing DevSecOps and deploying on IaaS, SaaS and PaaS platforms; hands-on experience in executing POCs and POTs
- Proficient in one or more security domains including Data Protection, Identity and Access Management, Cyber Threat Management, Infrastructure Security etc.
- University Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, and 15 years of related work experience;
- Understanding of information security standards (e.g. ISO 17799/27002, NIST CSF etc.), rules and regulations related to information security and data protection (OSFI B13, FFIEC, GDPR etc.), relevant security and architecture certifications (such as CISSP, SABSA, TOGAF);
- Proven experience in understanding current state and documenting target architectures, identifying gaps and desired capabilities, producing roadmaps and architectural patterns;
- Experience in developing security designs and performing design reviews coupled with an ability to assess security implications when introducing new or differing technologies within the environment;
- Experience with implementing security management /security governance tools; creating/maintaining security policies and procedures, educating developers/solutions architects.
