What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Specialist - Government, Space, Defense position at RBC?
This position exists primarily to drive and support the sustainment and growth of business to the Government, Space, and Defense market segments, and other growth segments identified as strategic to the division or company. It supports research into the market needs in these segments and creation of business and growth plans for each. This position must have a thorough understanding of relevant products and applications, customer base, markets, competitors, and supply channels.
Principal Responsibilities
- Perform market research and analysis to define the market and opportunity for divisional segment growth. Monitor and report market trends and needs.
- Provide data to prepare, update forecasts covering projected new business sales, bookings, proposal activity/costs by customer and program.
- Support the divisional management and Product Managers in development of marketing plans, business plans, sales strategies, and action plans for identified customers and opportunities with defined objectives, goals, strategies, schedules and action assignments.
- Monitor and report on the activities of competitors and supply channels.
- Work closely with Customer Service function to insure proper forecast and order management, and quote accuracy and timeliness.
- Coordinate with Sales to engage with customers as needed in support of business development and sustainment.
- Work with Product Management in support of Line Item and product line forecasts, for authorization on pricing and margin relative to their respective product responsibilities, and for alignment with their product line strategies and objectives.
- Government specific responsibilities:
- Maintain API’s cage code with Government
- Receive and respond to Govt solicitations in Govt systems
- Work with Govt on deliveries of open contracts
- Work with RBC Accounting on Accounts Receivable issues
- Produce SAR packages for new government business
