What is the opportunity?
The Senior Manager, Procurement will provide support for RBC Bank while influencing sourcing decisions, driving supplier consolidation, cost savings and cost avoidance efforts. This role will partner with senior management to proactively develop negotiation and contract strategies for high risk/complex and sensitive sourcing initiatives. The incumbent will gather and analyze data to create playbooks and strategies to support the different business models for services contemplated or currently under contract and prepare findings for senior management; as well as develop and negotiate complex (strategically critical, high value, or high risk) contract strategies that will provide cost effective, sustainable solutions to RBC businesses, and optimizing total value generated from RBC’s supplier base.
**Please note that the location for this position is Raleigh, NC. This position requires a hybrid working arrangement of a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.**

What will you do?
- Negotiate and draft complex supplier contracts, support business groups in managing supplier contracts and relationships in accordance with RBC policies.
- Proactively manage a pipeline of sourcing activities, create plans to identify or recommend alternative sourcing strategies and suppliers that maximize value for RBC and create alignment to long-term business strategies.
- Develop and implement global efficiencies, standardized tools, practices and procedures, RFP, new supplier and decision-making evaluations.
- Build effective and strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders (including executive level) by understanding key needs and dynamics across stakeholder groups, decision makers and influencers.
- Secure stakeholder support for complex decisions, including ones that may be unpopular, high-risk, or contentious.
- Identify, research and prioritize possible sourcing opportunities through internal spend analysis, knowledge of business unit, potential savings and/or business need.
- Provide mentoring and coaching to help develop skills and abilities of team members to optimize future job performance.
- Analyze complex procurement challenges and assist in developing solutions to best meet business needs.
Must-have
- Post-secondary education, or related Procurement Designation.
- 7 years’ experience in global procurement, sourcing, and relationship management.
- Experience in leading stakeholder interactions/relationships and influencing business decisions.
- Experience in leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
- Procurement certification or designation.
- Management consulting, SaaS, software, and professional services negotiation experience.
