Job Title: Construction Inspection Support
Position is located on the Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Site in Richland, WA. Position duration is 1-1.5yrs.
We are looking for a full-time construction inspector to provide verification of construction components. The construction inspector will be required to ensure that construction efforts align with design drawings and specifications, local codes and regulations, and industry standard practices. Any deficiencies must be immediately reported and all issues must be documented within a daily inspection report.
Construction inspector shall provide the following services:
Provide full time on-site construction inspection services in support of construction activities or project milestones.
Conduct regular inspections to verify that all construction activities comply with approved design documents (e.g. drawings, specifications, product submittals, substitutions, procured equipment, etc.), and relevant building codes, with special attention to structural, electrical, mechanical, and fire protection elements.
Monitor critical structural elements (foundations, framing, concrete placement, etc.) and confirm they are constructed per design requirements and applicable codes.
Ensure proper installation of fire protection systems, including alarms, sprinkler systems, and egress paths, in line with fire safety design and code requirements.
Review and comment on project schedule as well as 4-week look ahead to provide input for construction inspection hold points.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in construction management or related field plus 4 years of experience OR a minimum of 12 years of experience in a construction management/construction inspector position; or an equivalent combination of experience, training, and education.
Must hold relevant certifications [e.g. International Code Counsel (ICC) Certified Building Inspector or similar] and have comprehensive knowledge of building codes, fire safety standards, and construction best practices.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
