What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembly Tech I position at RC Mowers?
JOB PURPOSE
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Assembly Tech I is involved in many tasks of the manufacturing process. The Assembly Tech I works on large and small mechanical assemblies, electrical wiring, light fabrication work, troubleshooting, and provides occasional engineering assistance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Operations
· Ability and understanding to work at one station of mechanical assembly.
· Meet machine/assembly build deadlines.
· Fill workstation with needed parts, hardware, and tools to complete work orders.
· Communicate any quality questions/concerns.
· Communicate inventory questions/concerns.
· Communicate parts shortages on the Parts Board and to manager.
· Offer continuous improvement suggestions to enhance products and processes.
· Collaborate with purchasing department to audit inventory as needed.
· Ensure production area and factory is clean, organized, and free of unneeded items.
TEAM COLLABORATION
· Engage within the production team to exemplify RC Mowers values and culture.
· Provide open and candid communication with teammates and management.
· Attend bi-weekly Production Huddles
· Attend all safety meetings as required.
· Maintain attendance in accordance with company policy.
· Adherence to company policies and procedures.
· Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Experience:
· 2 years in a manufacturing role.
· 2 years of experience with hand/power tools, wrenches, drills, impact, hoist/crane, electrical wiring, pallet jack, grinder, soldering iron, and minor paint touch-ups.
Education: HSED or equivalent.
Preferred Experience:
· 2 years of assembly building.
· 1 years of forklift operation.
Supervision Responsibilities:
· None
Certifications:
· Valid Driver’s License
· Forklift Onsite Certification
Skills:
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and process.
· Ability to decipher a mechanical drawing and build from it.
· Strong ability to read and follow work instructions based on words and pictures.
· Ability to read an electric schematic.
· Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
· Ability to problem solve with limited assistance.
· Excellent ability to adapt and accept priority and process changes.
· Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
· Willingness to learn and improve in skills and abilities.
