Yard/Warehouse Helper - Construction Supplies

Overview
We are seeking dedicated and reliable Yard/Warehouse Worker to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for various warehouse operations, such as maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the yard area, loading and unloading materials, and assisting with inventory management, deliveries, and other tasks as needed.

Duties

• Keep the yard area clean organized, and free of debris.
• Load and unload materials, merchandise, and equipment from trucks and trailers.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other yard equipment safely to move materials within the warehouse.
• Assist in inventory control by tracking stock levels and conducting regular counts. Assist in receiving and processing incoming stock, and organizing materials.
• Collaborate with the warehouse supervisor to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
• Support order picking processes to fulfill customer requests accurately and timely.
• Assist Counter Sales position with greeting customers and offering assistance, processing sales transactions, handling customer inquiries, and locating items. Make deliveries if needed.

Skills

• Proficient in operating warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other yard equipment .
• Strong understanding of inventory control practices and procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• General computer skills preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in packaging and order fulfillment.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and supervisors.
• Previous experience in a warehouse environment is a plus, particularly in roles involving order picking or inventory management.
• Ability to work in a physical environment that requires work inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
• Ability to regularly bend, push, pull, twist and reach above the head. Walk and stand for extended periods of time. Lift materials weighing up to 100lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.75 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
