Job Description:
- Pre-preparation of foods: Ensuring appropriate quantities and adherence to standardized recipes and portion control.
- Recipe preparation: Preparing meals from scratch according to menus.
- Monitoring: Overseeing food handling, preparation, meal service, and equipment cleaning.
Responsibilities:
- Follow standardized recipes and monitor food production and waste.
- Prepare meal portions according to menu and diet requirements.
- Review menus for special diet needs before meals.
- Oversee pre-preparation and ensure proper meal preparation.
- Monitor tray line at mealtime for portion control and dietary adherence.
- Prepare food to maintain quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance.
- Ensure proper portion control for nutritional intake.
- Prepare sufficient quantities of food for residents and staff.
- Direct and serve individual portions for residents.
- Prepare meals for the employee cafeteria.
- Monitor perishable foods for proper storage and rotation.
- Perform and inspect cleaning assignments in kitchen or serving areas.
- Ensure resident and customer satisfaction.
- Adjust shift assignments to meet resident and facility needs.
- Supervise and direct dietary aides in the absence of the Food Service Director or Dietary Supervisor.
- Maintain proper food and freezer storage.
- Demonstrate proper handwashing and food handling techniques.

Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Two to three years of food preparation experience preferred.
- Long-term care experience preferred.
- Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable.
