Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts and material handling equipment in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient movement of materials within the facility, loading and unloading semi trailers and train cars, contributing to our overall operational success with multiple tenants.
Duties
- Operate forklifts, including clamp trucks and cherry pickers, to move, stack, and load materials safely and efficiently.
- Perform inventory controls and use warehouse management systems to track inventory and ensure accurate shipping and receiving processes.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
- Collaborate with warehouse lead and team members to optimize workflow and maintain a clean work environment.
- Assist in the organization of warehouse space and stage material for delivery.
- Any other duties necessary to complete any aspect of business for the betterment of the company, productivity, and operations.
Qualifications
- Experience (1-2year) as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse setting.
- Ability to perform lifting objects from 10-50lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
- Mechanical knowledge for basic troubleshooting of equipment is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Good hand-eye coordination, with the ability to assess weights, judge distances and heights.
- Standing, walking, stooping or climbing during shift.
- Ability to start shift at 7am.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon the season.
