Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Guard to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients and their properties. This role requires a proactive approach to loss prevention, effective surveillance techniques, and the ability to manage conflicts with professionalism. Ideal position for a veteran or retired individual part time or full time.
Duties
- Monitor alarms and video cameras to prevent theft, vandalism, and other security breaches.
- Conduct regular inspections of premises and report any irregularities or safety hazards.
- Utilize surveillance equipment including CCTV systems to observe activities and ensure compliance with security protocols.
- Remain Alert. Looking for anything out of the ordinary. Respond promptly to alarms and incidents. In an emergency, guards may call for assistance to company maintenance person and manager.
- Write a comprehensive report outlining observations while on duty. Written reports must have neat and legible handwriting.
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations and facility's operations schedule.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when required, providing detailed reports on incidents as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations for future reference.
Experience
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military service is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with loss prevention techniques and surveillance systems is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various environments.
Physical Demands and Abilities
- Must have effective communication (verbal and listening skills).
- Required to stand, sit, or walk.
- Specific vision abilities required for the job include close vision, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. Detailed information to be included on reports.
