PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Shall adhere to all safety, health and environmental procedures, policies and practices, and ensures that all equipment is in safe operating condition and meets or exceeds OSHA Standards.
- Comply with all QMS / EMS procedures and work instructions as it pertains to the position description.
- Improve plant performance in materials management, scrap, labor, and operational spending to achieve facility's budget and meet operational expectations.
- Manage all daily activities within the shift.
- Responsible for the Environment, Health, and Safety of his / her employees, customers, suppliers, and other Roechling employees, both on the production floor and in the office space. Champions all HSE activities on their respective shift and address any unsafe action by any employees.
- Hold a daily production shift review meeting with all direct reports to review any safety issues or concerns, customer quality concerns, delivery issues, and performance problems on their shift.
- Responsible for directing all plant floor operations to achieves its goal of on-time and complete delivery of customer orders with product that meets all customer specifications.
- Enforce a culture of Zero on the shift - zero accidents, zero defects, zero late orders and zero waste.
- Providing daily direction & projects for team members utilizing the Roechling Automotive Production System (RAPS) and other Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement tools and methodology.
- Assist in the creation and enforcement of KPI goals and maintains a pipeline of continuous improvement projects such that the KPI targets are met or exceeded.
- Achieve productivity improvement in production output and performance by providing training in set up, processing, troubleshooting IMMs.
- Enforce compliance to the production schedule and production attainment to ensure achievement of on-time, complete delivery commitment.
- Ensures that work cells are set up properly and contains the required equipment and information that enables proper number of operators to produce products at the assigned run-rate and to the required specifications. This includes such items as Assembly Tools, Safety Devices, up-to-date Standard Work Instructions, Quality Alerts, Poke-Yokes, Boundary Samples, etc.
- Ensures that all operators are properly trained and certified before producing products on a work cell. Ensures that versatility charts are visible and up-to-date for each work cell.
- Follow Fast Response and Drill Down procedures to identify root cause, develop corrective actions, and assure timely response to resolving customer quality concerns and / or delivery issues.
- Monitor and lead molding & assembly operations to meet safety, quality, and production requirements. TL and FFM / SS
- Support team leads in their daily functions to ensure schedules are met while maintaining a safe environment and quality mindset. FFM / SS
- Input daily and weekly production data. Upkeep documentation as required. Daily Labor - SS / FFM with TL input, Backflush - TL, Lost hour report - TL, PTO Approvals - FFM / SS, Downtime coding (HAP) - TL, Employee Evaluations - SS / FFM with TL input
- Perform reviews, counseling, write ups, and personal improvement actions. FFM / SS
- Develop Team Leads to be backup FFM's FFM / SS
- Develop and implement operating procedures that eliminate problems and / or improve quality and / or reduce cost. TL and FFM / SS
- Actively pursue process and equipment changes to improve modifications to machines or equipment to improve production, quality and reduce cost. TL and FFM / SS
- Maintain daily shift handover meetings with employees to keep all personnel informed of critical issues. TL and FFM / SS
- Work with cross function teams to make continuous improvement to eliminate waste.TL and FFM / SS
- Administer Company policies and maintain employer / employee relations on the highest level. Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations. FFM / SS
- Assist in resolving operator concerns and unresolved issues with the human resource department. TL and FFM / SS
- Implement all new projects to production from pre-series to series production, including training on all shifts. TL and FFM / SS
- Ensure confidentiality is a priority. TL and FFM / SS
- Maintain a "whatever it takes" attitude to ensure best in class standards to get the job done. TL and FFM / SS
- Perform all other functions required by Focused Factory Manager.
- Each employee is responsible for the quality of his / her personal performance and how said performance impacts the environment, safety, and data security. This is applicable to the departments of development, production, management, logistics, and aftermarket services, as well as to contact with customers and suppliers. Managers, FFM and Superintendents are also responsible for the quality of his / her team's performance and how said performance impacts the environment, safety, and data security.
- This principle of comprehensive quality management is developed and furthered through training (on the job), continuing / extended education, as well as continued supply of information and updates, and should be exemplified by FFM or Superintendent on every level.
- Knowledge of customer specific requirements (CSR) necessary through advanced training, or work experience or a combination of the two.
