Position Description:
This position is responsible for conducting organizational studies and evaluations, designing systems and procedures, conducting work simplification and measurement studies, and preparing operations and procedures manuals to assist management in operating more efficiently and effectively.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- The EHS Manager will have responsibility for all activities about Safety, Health, and the environment. This role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a company-wide safety and environmental compliance culture.
- Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
- Chairperson for company safety committee
- Recommend process and product safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazards.
- Act as a liaison between RD Henry& Company and outside safety/environmental consultants.
- Conduct employee safety training classes
- Promote a culture of safety first, throughout all levels of the employee population
- Manage safety training programs to ensure that the company meets all safety training regulations
- Manage worker's compensation program to manage the claims process and reduce the number of accidents
- Work proactively to ensure the company complies with all regulatory agencies.
- Manage an employee wellness program
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficient computer skills, including Outlook, Excel Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- Ability to meet deadlines and department expectations.
- Results-oriented while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to follow processes and directions while demonstrating a willingness to learn.
- Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.
- Ability to solve problems in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
- Teamwork skills.
Job Qualifications and Education
- Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college or university or
- 3-5 years related safety/EHS experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Able to walk upstairs. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. An employee is subject to outside environmental conditions occasionally; and inside conditions frequently, with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
