Summary
The Director of Manufacturing leads departmental management and oversees daily manufacturing operations to ensure on-time production within quality and cost objectives. This strategic yet hands-on role drives operational excellence in plastic injection molding, assembly, supply chain, safety, quality, delivery, and cost, while developing the plant and its team for future growth.
Essential Functions
- Provides operational leadership, aligning activities with company goals and developing long-term plans to address complex issues.
- Optimizes manufacturing processes and implements best practices in systems, supply chain, and quality improvements.
- Oversees the technical and professional development of the manufacturing team.
- Leads staff selection, performance management, development, and training to ensure team competencies meet business goals.
- Drives continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methods to enhance KPIs.
- Prepares and manages capital and expense budgets, regularly updating forecasts and improving performance.
- Reviews performance and results for manufacturing KPIs and capital projects.
- Promotes accountability and drives a safety culture with zero incidents.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations (government, financial, environmental, labor).
- Develops and maintains cost-reduction programs throughout operations.

Work Environment
This role is based in a production warehouse and office environment, regularly utilizing standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, NetSuite, and Mattec, with knowledge of plastics manufacturing, closed-loop chemical containment, and dispensing.
- Global experience and ability to effectively interface with diverse cultures.
- Strong problem-solving skills, capable of resolving complex business issues using advanced analytical judgment.
- Demonstrates ethical decision-making and discretion in significant matters.
- Skilled in leveraging technology to drive organizational growth and improving operational efficiency in large-scale plastics operations.
- Knowledgeable in business management, strategic planning, resource allocation, production methods, and team coordination.
- Exceptional multitasking, organizational, and leadership abilities in a fast-paced environment.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (Master's preferred).
- At least 10 years of plant supervisory experience, including 3 years in operations management.
- Experience in Plastic Mold Manufacturing.
