Registered Dietitian (RDN)

Job Title: Registered Dietitian (In-home, full-time)

Organization: RD Nutrition Consultants

Location: Bridgeport, CT

Salary: $65,000 per annum

Work Hours: Monday-Friday, Business Hours with occasional evenings

Responsibilities:

1. 1. Conduct initial in-home consultations for individuals newly diagnosed with diabetes, offering education and support for managing their condition through nutrition.
   
2. 2. Provide practical culinary education, demonstrating the preparation of healthy meals tailored to manage diabetes.
   
3. 3. Distribute fresh fruits and vegetables provided by Walmart to clients as part of their nutritional management, enhancing the program's effectiveness.
   
4. 4. Guide clients in healthy grocery shopping at Walmart, providing practical tips and curated food lists to support their dietary needs.
   
5. 5. Monitor and document patient progress and provide necessary feedback during follow-up sessions.
   
6. 6. Collaborate with healthcare providers and Hartford HealthCare (HHC) to create holistic care plans for clients.

1. 1. Registered Dietitian (RD) certification.
   
2. 2. Proven experience working as a dietitian, ideally in a community or home-based setting. Experience in diabetes management is highly desirable.
   
3. 3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build relationships with clients of diverse backgrounds.
   
4. 4. Knowledgeable in creating diet plans and providing culinary education.
   
5. 5. Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
   

Special Requirements:

1. 1. Familiarity with diabetes nutrition management.
   
2. 2. Ability to demonstrate cooking techniques and provide culinary education.
   
3. 3. Strong passion for community health and nutrition.
   

Program Collaboration: This program is in collaboration with Walmart, which provides participants with fresh food and groceries in addition to comprehensive nutrition education, further empowering individuals in managing their diabetes effectively.
