What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing / AR Specialist position at RD&S?
Description
The Billing / AR Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of RD&S’s invoicing processes. This includes data collection, processing, and distribution of all invoices. The Billing / AR Specialist will work closely with Operations and Office Staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of all customer invoicing.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process all invoicing for the Service and Construction department, including but not limited to Time & Material, Planned Maintenance, Fixed Fee projects, Parts Invoices and AIA invoicing
- Ensure that each invoice meets RD&S’s internal requirements and had obtained proper approvals
- Generate and analyze necessary reporting to verify that final invoicing figures reconcile with project documentation
- Review all invoicing prior to distribution to confirm that all remittance information is accurate and customer instructions are followed
- Interact with customers to resolve any billing issues
- Collaborate with Accountant to assist with timely collection of all open receivable balances
- Work with Service team and Project Managers to ensure timely invoicing and that all monthly cutoffs are met
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 5 years’ experience in a Billing Specialist (or similar) role
- Strong understanding of billing and collections processes in a high-volume environment
- Excellent attention to details
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong people skills and willingness to collaborate
- Experience working in a high demand, fast paced industry
- High-level problem-solving abilities
- Ability to act with discretion, tact, and professionalism in all situations
- Ability to manage shifting priorities
