Cost Accountant
RdF Corporation, a Southern NH manufacturing company, seeks an experienced cost accountant. The ideal candidate has a proven cost accountant background with experience in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities of the Cost Accountant:
- Plan, study, and collect data to determine business activity costs such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor.
- Analyze data collected and record results.
- Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost.
- Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports to compare standard costs to actual production costs.
- Record cost information for use in controlling expenditures.
- Create estimates for new and proposed product costs.
- Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors effecting prices and profitability of products or services.
- Maintain ERP system set ups to support accurate Cost Accounting Reporting.
- Assist in month end close of the General Ledger.
- Conduct physical inventories and monitor cycle count program.
- Reconcile cost of goods sold and inventories.
Requirements of the Cost Accountant:
- Minimum of 2 years of Cost Accounting in a Manufacturing Environment.
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
- Must have a strong Cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with ERP/MRP manufacturing systems.
- Analytical skills with a keen sense of organization and attention to detail.
- Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards.
- Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
