Underground Utility Foreman

RDR is seeking Underground Utility Foreman to complete our Utility Repair and Maintenance Division

Job Summary:

The Foreman will report directly to their RDR supervisor.

Job duties:

• Communicate effectively with Project Superintendent and Project Managers
• Keep safety as a top priority with a focus on efficiency and production with job costs in mind
• Align and position pipes/drainage structures to prepare them for installation in a trench or excavation
• Check slopes for conformance to requirements
• Handling excavated & backfill material
• Excavation near existing utilities
• Excavate trenches to grade at required depths and proper slopes
• Proper backfill techniques to keep pipe on grade as well as sustain the desired pipe circumference/shape to obtain compaction
• Rig, lift, swing & set precast concrete structures on grade
• Operate the machine in a safe and efficient manner around the work areas
• Understands and watches/checks machine control, gauges, fluid levels & lubrication daily

Qualifications:

• 3 years of excavator operation required
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as Foreman preferred
• Excavation and large pipe installation for underground water utilities experience required
• Previous experience in water main installation
• Must be able to lift up-to 75lbs
• Ability to read and understand drawings
