Full-time with benefits; 4-day school week, 167 scheduled working days/year, 8.0 hours/day
Salary Range: $44,000 minimum depending on experience (based on the 2024-2025 salary schedule)

Description: Assist students with special needs or students that need additional support under the direction of a certified teacher. Will generally work in an inclusionary setting (i.e. least restrictive environment). Assists the teacher in general daily classroom activities, helps students, and cares for their physical, emotional health and safety, affirming their abilities, and striving to promote dignity in all relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assisting students in achieving academic success
• Working with students who may be disruptive in class
• Behavior support which includes physical management (training provided upon hire)
• Social integration
• Consultation and collaboration with Program Director as well as related service staff
• Any and all other duties as may be assigned

• Bachelor's Degree in the content area or enrolled in a program leading towards obtaining such degree.
• Currently hold a Colorado teaching license or have licensure application in process with appropriate endorsement in Education or a valid Colorado Substitute Teaching License and enrolled in a program working toward alternative licensure
  (must upload license or in process documentation to application).
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work cooperatively with parents, students, and staff.
• Demonstrates organizational and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of the subject matter assigned, classroom management, best practices and strategies, students' learning styles and needs, both academic and affective.
• Completed and submitted online application.
• A current cover letter or letter of interest detailing information about the candidate and their interest in Re-1 Valley Schools.
• A current, professional resume.
• Three current professional letters of reference.

Sterling is located in Logan County in the Northeastern corner of Colorado on Interstate 76 alongside the Platte River. Having the largest population, approximately 13,900, in Logan County and much of the surrounding area, Sterling offers shopping, restaurants, numerous parks, a recreation center, access to medical care and is located near North Sterling Reservoir. Sterling is approximately 1 1/2 hours from Denver International Airport and 2 hours from Denver and the front range (I-25 corridor).

RE-1 Valley School District has two high schools, one middle school, one junior high school, three elementary schools and two preschools and serves approximately 2,200 students in the Sterling and Iliff/Crook areas, employing about 500 staff. RE-1 Valley School District utilizes a 4-day school week schedule (Tuesday-Friday).
