    Salary Range: $44,000 minimum depending on experience (based on the 2024-2025 salary schedule)

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    • Bachelor's Degree in the content area or enrolled in a program leading towards obtaining such degree.
    • Currently hold a Colorado teaching license or have licensure application in process with appropriate endorsement in Technology or a valid Colorado Substitute Teaching License and enrolled in a program working toward alternative licensure
      (must upload license or in process documentation to application).
    • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work cooperatively with parents, students, and staff.
    • Demonstrates organizational and communication skills.
    • Working knowledge of the subject matter assigned, classroom management, best practices and strategies, students' learning styles and needs, both academic and affective.
    • Completed and submitted online application.
    • A current cover letter or letter of interest detailing information about the candidate and their interest in Re-1 Valley Schools.
    • A current, professional resume.
    • Three current professional letters of reference.



    JOB GOAL: To develop in each student an understanding of computer skills and applications. To develop practical skills for personal use or for use in business occupations; to encourage students to develop work and personal habits essential for success.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Perform at a professional level in all areas of instructional management, interpersonal relationships and general responsibilities as they relate to technology education courses.
    • Teaching duties include but not limited to: computer applications and other course as identified in the Sterling High School description booklet.
    • Must be familiar with various business software programs.
    • Develop and select appropriate instructional materials commensurate with the students' ability levels and interest.
    • Demonstrate a high commitment towards student achievement and development through the use of data and other school metrics.
    • Display a willingness to promote pride and sensitivity to the multi-cultural backgrounds of the school population.
    • Teach knowledge and skills in art, drawing, painting, lettering, design, commercial art, art history and/or three-dimensional art to secondary students, using courses of study adopted by the Board of Education and other appropriate learning activities.
    • Provide instruction by which students develop aesthetic concepts and appreciations and the ability to make qualitative judgments about art.
    • Demonstrate techniques in activities such as drawing, painting and modeling, using standard and/or teacher-prepared instructional aids.
    • Develop instructional plans and organizes class time to provide a balanced program of instruction, demonstration and working time.
    • Provide individual and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of the students with varying intellectual and artistic abilities and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities.
    • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly and productive environment.
    • Instruct students in proper care and use of tools and equipment.
    • Organize storage areas and control use of materials, equipment and tools to prevent loss or abuse and to minimize time required for distribution and collection.
    • Evaluate each student's performance and growth in knowledge and aesthetic understandings and prepare progress reports.
    • Select and requisition books, instructional materials, tools, instructional aids and maintains required inventory records.
    • Maintain professional competence through in service education activities provided by the district and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.
    • Maintain an auditable record of student attendance and make daily reports of students absent each period. Assign citizenship and scholarship marks.
    • Participate cooperatively with the appropriate administrator to develop the method by which he will be evaluated in conformance with district guidelines.
    • Communicate with parents and school counselors on student progress.
    • Identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude and learning problems.
    • Participate in curriculum and other developmental programs within the school of assignment and/or on a district level.
    • Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned work day.
    • Participate in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities.

    Sterling is located in Logan County in the Northeastern corner of Colorado on Interstate 76 alongside the Platte River. Having the largest population, approximately 13,900, in Logan County and much of the surrounding area, Sterling offers shopping, restaurants, numerous parks, a recreation center, access to medical care and is located near North Sterling Reservoir. Sterling is approximately 1 1/2 hours from Denver International Airport and 2 hours from Denver and the front range (I-25 corridor).

    RE-1 Valley School District has two high schools, one middle school, one junior high school, three elementary schools and two preschools and serves approximately 2,200 students in the Sterling and Iliff/Crook areas, employing about 500 staff.
