Job Summary
As a Direct Support Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for Adults with disabilities or special needs. Your primary responsibility will be to provide compassionate care and support in Family Foster setting. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the social well-being of clients.
- Monitor and document clients' health status, including vital signs and any changes in behavior or condition.
- Implement individualized care plans as directed by healthcare professionals or case managers.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality and privacy.
- Participate in training sessions to maintain knowledge of best practices in caregiving and direct support.
- Collaborate with other caregivers, nurses, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
- Facilitate recreational activities that promote engagement and social interaction among clients.
- Maintain a clean home
- Provide safety to the individuals
Skills
- Proven experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of CPR techniques and emergency response procedures is beneficial, will train.
- Familiarity with group home settings or home community care practices is a plus.
- Ability to monitor vital signs and report any concerns effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Basic understanding of social work principles may enhance effectiveness in this role.
