Paid Internship: Horticulture Associate
Plant Health Care & Tree Preservation – RE-TREE
Duration: May 1st – October 1st
Compensation: Paid Internship, hourly rate will range from $12.50 - $15.00 per hour depending on education and experience.
About the Role:
RE-TREE is seeking a Horticulture Associate to support our Tree Asset Protection Program and Commercial Tree Revenue Program. This role involves assessing and maintaining tree and shrub health, assisting with monitoring and treatments, and supporting data collection and client communication. Ideal candidates are motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to gain hands-on experience in arboriculture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with tree and shrub assessments, including pest, soil, and irrigation evaluations.
- Support monitoring, pruning, and organic soil treatments.
- Help detect and manage pests and diseases.
- Maintain detailed records and assist with data entry.
- Aid in client communication, scheduling, and equipment upkeep.
- Participate in training to develop arboriculture knowledge.
Qualifications:
Education: Pursuing or completed degree/certification in Arboriculture, Horticulture, Urban Forestry, or related field.
Skills: Basic plant biology knowledge, attention to detail, teamwork, and good communication skills.
Physical: Able to work outdoors and perform physical tasks.
Preferred: Valid driver’s license; ISA Certified Arborist, Pesticide Applicator, or Green Industry Professional.
