POSITION SPECIFIC DETAILS:
Full Time Driver
Hours: 40 hours/week
Status: Part Year*
SUMMARY:
The Transportation Specialist will transport children and parents enrolled in agency programs safely and promptly. They will be an integral part of the child's educational process, portraying a positive role model for children, parents, and the public. They will also deliver food and other program supplies/equipment to appropriate sites and to effectively support program operations with varying tasks such as light maintenance needs and assisting in the classroom.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- A high school diploma or GED
- A valid Wisconsin driver's license
- An excellent driving record for the past 5 years and less than 7 points on driving abstract
- To successfully meet insurance underwriter's driving record requirements
- Possess a valid CDL (Commercial Drivers License) with Passenger (P) and School bus (S) endorsements
- The ability to lift 50 pounds
- Successfully pass drug tests as mandated by federal law
- Strong customer service skills
- Experience working with low-income families and experience with disabled people is desirable
- Experience with young children
- Experience in vehicle and building maintenance
- Training in first aid, defensive driving, safety and child development
- Other duties as assigned
*Part Year employees have built in vacations which include summer break, 2 weeks in winter, and spring break (part year staff follow the school district calendar in which their program is located)
