The mission of REACH Early Learning is to build a safe, high quality preschool environment as diverse as the community surrounding Fletcher Place Community Center that encourages children ages 6 weeks-5 to recognize their value and REACH for their full potential.
Our Educators support the development of the children we serve by use of the Early Learning Matters (ELM) Curriculum and through strategically arranged and regularly enriched environments. Educators collaborate with our REACH Coach to enact our vision for the classroom and continue their own personal growth as educators.
Responsibilities and Expectations for REACH Educators:
- Collaborate with Lead Educators to plan and facilitate developmentally-appropriate lesson plans following Early Learning Matters (ELM) Curriculum and the Indiana Early Learning Standards
- Collaborate with Lead Educators and REACH Coach to bring your lesson plans to life through engaging and inclusive play based learning approaches
- Complete child development observations via Early Learning Matters (ELM) Curriculum Guides
- Provide experiences that foster a sense of self (i.e. competence, self-control, and a positive pattern of interaction with others)
- Encourage a sense of community and a sense of the importance of each child as a participating member of REACH
- Maintain a healthy, safe and clean environment and ensure all state licensing rules and regulations are adhered to
- Communicate regularly with families to relay information about their student’s day, student needs, progress, health concerns, and more
- Encourage parent involvement with REACH Early Learning and Fletcher Place Community Center services
Requirements of REACH Educators
- A passion for early childhood education and knowledge of developmental best practices
- Be adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of the children and center
- Be able to build and nurture relationships with children, families, and team members
- 1 years of experience leading an early childhood classroom preferred
- 2 years of working with young children required
