Position: Certified Medical Assistant
Supervisor Title: Clinic Manager
Regular Work Hours: Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM / occasional holidays/weekends/satellite coverage
Employment Status: Non-exempt, Full-Time Hourly

Job Summary:
The Langtree Certified Medical Assistant needs to be able to work in a fast-paced, professional environment where your talent contributes to changing people’s lives. This position requires collaborating with physicians, other medical providers, and patients by providing expert care and service for fertility treatments. Must be able to listen to patients and their families to ensure needs are being addressed, educate patients on medical procedures or conditions using previously attained knowledge and feeling confident in this knowledge, keep patient records up to date, and act as a liaison between the patient and healthcare personnel by keeping the lines of communication flowing.
The certified medical assistant position promotes and restores patient health by assisting in the nursing process and supporting care providers and multidisciplinary team members.
Responsibilities:
- Measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
- Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and nurses.
- Assure exam rooms are clean and prepared.
- Record medical histories and prepare patients for exams.
- Prepare charts for patient appointments making sure all necessary information is completed.
- Provide instructions to patients as instructed by physician or nurse.
- Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available in patients’ medical records prior to appointment.
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, and prepare sterilization as required.
- Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patients, physicians, and pharmacies.
- Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e., refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.).
- Routinely inventory and stock exam rooms rotating items with expiration dates and monitoring for expired items.
- Clean and autoclave instruments at the end of day
- Prepare morning monitoring sheets the day prior
- Enter morning monitoring Ultrasound information and any corresponding patient Vital Signs by 10:30am each day
- Live answer phone if needed and assist patients as needed
Education & Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of applicable work experience
- High School diploma required
- Knowledge of medical terminology, and preferred patient care experience.
- Strong communication skills, independent worker, detailed-oriented, computer savvy
- High level of customer service essential
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Organized with an ability to multi-task. Self-motivated, Ability to make independent decisions after initial training with input when needed from Supervisor.
- Ability to maintain calm and professional demeanor in potentially stressful situations.

- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to prioritize workflow
- Willingness to perform a variety of roles due to the decreased number of employees at the worksite
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be a current Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA)
- Be qualified in phlebotomy.
