Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with patients to help them achieve their rehabilitation goals and improve their quality of life. You will provide therapeutic interventions tailored to the individual needs of patients across various settings, including acute care, pediatrics, geriatrics, and skilled nursing facilities. Your expertise in patient care and anatomy will be essential in developing effective treatment plans.
Duties
- Assess patients' physical and mental conditions through observation and interviews to determine their needs for occupational therapy.
- Develop personalized treatment plans that align with each patient's goals and capabilities.
- Implement therapeutic interventions to enhance patients' abilities in daily living activities.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including speech therapists and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment options and strategies for improving daily functioning.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
- Stay updated on best practices in occupational therapy and participate in ongoing professional development.
Requirements
- Valid Occupational Therapy license in the state of Alabama.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and its application in patient care.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities, including autism.
- Experience in pediatrics is a plus but not required.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
