Location: Joppa, Maryland
Full-Time | Monday – Friday (some remote Telehealth days)
$25.00 per hour (based on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor – Alcohol & Drug Trainee (ADT) to provide individual and group counseling, complete assessments and treatment plans, and support clients in our Outpatient (OP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) programs. What You’ll Do

• Conduct substance use disorder screenings and assessments

• Develop and implement treatment plans

• Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions

• Provide recovery-based education to clients and families

• Coordinate referrals and case management support

• Respond to client crises with compassion and clinical insight

• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the EMR

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Must hold an active ADT credential from the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists

• Associate’s degree in a related counseling or human services field preferred

• 1 year of experience with SUD populations preferred

• Familiarity with Carelon, EVS, and BestNotes EMR a plus

• Ability to work under clinical supervision

• Familiarity with COMAR regulations and best practices in addiction treatment

• Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and professionalism

• Must pass a criminal background check
