Responsibilities
- Educate students on swimming techniques, water safety, and proper breathing methods.
- Develop individualized lesson plans tailored to the needs and skill levels of each student.
- Conduct group and private swim lessons in a safe and encouraging manner.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
- Implement behavior management strategies to maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
- Collaborate with other instructors to ensure consistency in teaching methods and safety protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the swim area before, during, and after lessons.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Experience
- Previous experience as a swim instructor or lifeguard is preferred.
- Background in physical education, sports coaching, or martial arts is advantageous.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques when working with students is essential.
- Experience working with diverse groups of students, including those with varying abilities in swimming.
- Knowledge of other sports such as basketball or karate can be beneficial for holistic student engagement.
