What are the responsibilities and job description for the STEM Teacher position at Reaching All Minds Academy?
The STEM Teacher is a new, full-time role to Reaching All Minds Academy (RAMA). The ideal candidate would be able to create his/her own STEM curriculum for 5th-8th grade students with the focus of bringing STEM alive for all students through interactive, engaging lessons. This role is a new addition to the RAMA staff to meet the needs of our growing school, and will be part of the Elective Team.
The STEM Teacher will report directly to RAMA’s Director of Curriculum and Instruction. This position will be a full-time position (45 hours per week). The STEM Teacher will be required to be at RAMA Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
Reaching All Minds Academy is a charter school in Durham County with the mission to prepare students to become productive citizens with the skills needed to solve complex problems, think critically, exhibit positive social competencies, and to function in a highly technological and global society.
Core Responsibilities:
- Work directly with 5th-8th grade students
- Manage elective and core classroom schedule
- Able to communicate effectively with peers, students and parents
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in teaching with a focus in Science or Technology preferred
- Demonstrated ability to create own lesson plans
- Candidate must be self-guided, creative and decisive
- Candidate must possess a willingness to be a team player
- 1-2 years of teaching experience preferred
