Summary: To develop and provide doula and health education information to individuals. To provide outreach and educational support to the Program Manager, Doulas, Coordinator, consultants, and other program staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Duties and Scope of Responsibilities
• Recruit and engage women in the community to participate in doula services.
• Identify eligible participants for the Project, make referrals based on project requirements, and locate "lost participants."
• Collaborate with agencies and organizations serving pregnant women and infants, including participation in sub-committees and community meetings.
• Support in Data management/entry of doula team
• Build partnerships with community agencies to strengthen outreach, education, and referral initiatives.
• Drive community awareness about the availability of doula services through various channels.
• Conduct large group and individual education sessions to promote doula services and other healthcare resources.
• Cultivate and maintain community relationships to ensure essential program services are effectively addressed.
• Elevate awareness about quality healthcare services in the community.
• Collaborate with clients and families to assess their needs and encourage participation in childbirth and child development classes, as well as support groups.
• Facilitate group discussions and health-related classes for clients, alumni, fathers, and family members.
• Assist in arranging transportation and encouraging attendance at healthcare appointments and related classes.
• Attend Community Council meetings, Doula, and REACHUP staff meetings on a monthly basis.
• Assist in coordinating Project-related meetings, workshops, and trainings, disseminating information and marketing materials.
• Identify training and staff development needs by liaising with Project personnel and consultants.
• Provide regular updates at Community Consortium meetings and submit bi-annual reports as requested by the Project Director.
• Maintain accurate records and input data into Healthysoft database and other mandated databases.
• Work with ASO accounts with doula team and Manager
• Perform additional outreach duties as needed to uphold the Project's mission and objectives.
• Maintain flexibility in work schedule to accommodate project demands.
Special Skills/Licenses/Training/Certifications Necessary:
• Exceptional communication skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
• Effective prioritization abilities within a fast-paced, deadline-driven office environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in written communication.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and auto insurance or the capacity to travel (flexibly for home visits and community-wide travel).
Qualification/Requirements:
Experience working with Community Based programs and organizations such as Healthy Start.
Proficient personal computer experience to include Microsoft Outlook, Word, Microsoft Outlook,
Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet applications.
Education/Training/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two (2) year equivalent experience working with
community-based projects and a minimum of four (2) years of experience in an outreach/education
position. Bachelor's degree or higher and a minimum of one (1) year equivalent experience in
community-based projects and/or outreach/education.
