POSITION: Respiratory Systems Analyst

GENERAL INFORMATION
As Respiratory Systems Analyst you will be part of an Engineering team creating and testing respiratory medical devices such as ventilators, CPAPs and oxygen concentrators. Familiarity with respiratory devices is a perquisite to the role, as many tasks of the role will be performed independently, and the candidate will need to understand intended device functions and debug systems independently when they are not performing as intended. This is a hands-on role that involves working with engineers to understand conceptual designs, and create documentation, design tests, setup tests, and execute tests to verify the effectiveness of the designs. This role provides technician support/assistance to all engineering staff, including maintenance of the lab and lab equipment, such as calibration of equipment, organization of the lab, and ordering of supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 4 years as a Respiratory Therapist or similar clinical role.
- At least 4 years in a hands-on technical role.
- Familiarity with product or systems development, including requirements gathering, functional design and testing
- Able to prioritize daily activities to meet on-demand needs as well as longer-term tasks.
Preferred Education
- 2 years working within a medical device development environment, or other quality system regulated development environments
Preferred Experience
- Experience setting up and using ventilators, oxygen concentrators, and CPAP devices on patients
- Experience setting up and running tests
- Ability to use basic hand tools to prototype concepts and set up test stations
- Familiarity with statistical sampling techniques
- Familiarity of root cause corrective action process and tools found in CAPA methodologies
- Competent with Microsoft Office
- Ability to organize, procure and manage materials for projects (e.g., order kit components from Digi-key, maintain kit in lab)
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to do light electronic and mechanical design work for test fixtures (e.g., specifying and mounting power/IO connectors/fans/feet, mounting boards, designing/building/routing/tie down cables)
- Excellent attention to detail and project organizational skills
- Excellent written/oral communication skills required. Must be able to work effectively with diverse groups of people.

Working Conditions

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Provide project support from a clinical perspective, including documenting product specifications based on customer needs.
- Create technical test procedures to verify the design of respiratory products, as well as verifying interfaces between other React Health systems and stakeholders.
- Create new documentation supporting engineering projects, such as risk assessments and technical manuals, as directed.
- Take ownership of resolution for product and/or implementation issues.
- Organize and maintain engineering lab equipment, tools and supply stocks, including ensuring lab equipment maintains current calibration documentation.
- Execute and document results of design verification tests following written test procedures.
- Provide technician support/assistance to all engineering staff, including mechanical, electrical, software, and test.
- Setup, execute, and record results for ad-hoc engineering tests, building/procuring the necessary equipment, test hardware, cabling, and pneumatics/tubing.
- Troubleshoot and repair product and test setups, such as leaks in pneumatic sub-assemblies and systems.
- Use common electrical and mechanical tools and equipment to make and record measurements of critical component parameters and characteristics.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis of complex electromechanical failures, document findings and effectively communicate results and recommendations.
- Interpret test results and evaluate data with oversight.
- Perform assigned work independently and maintain a sense of urgency and ownership.
- Attends and participates in departmental meetings. Attends seminars and training sessions necessary to maintain appropriate level of professional competence

- Attends all meetings, in-services training, or continuing education as delegated by the supervisor
