We are currently seeking a motivated scientist with experience in in vitro safety pharmacology assays to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radioligand binding and cell-based functional assays, with experience in electrophysiology considered a plus, and will contribute to the development of novel safety pharmacology assays and processes.
Job Description:
As a scientist in our In Vitro Safety team, you will be responsible for designing, conducting, and analyzing experiments to assess the safety profile of drug candidates. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to generate data that supports the development of safe and effective therapeutics for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and conduct in vitro safety pharmacology assays, including radioligand binding and cell-based functional assays.
- Perform receptor binding studies to assess drug interactions with target receptors and other relevant biomolecules.
- Conduct cell-based functional assays to evaluate the pharmacological effects of compounds on cellular signaling pathways.
- Analyze and interpret data, ensuring accuracy and scientific rigor.
- Present findings to internal teams and contribute to reports, publications, and presentations.
- Work closely with other scientists to support our client’s preclinical drug development programs.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Evaluate the effects of drug candidates on ion channel activity and electrophysiological properties.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D., M.S., or equivalent in Pharmacology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience in conducting in vitro safety pharmacology assays, with a focus on radioligand binding and cell-based functional assays.
- Familiarity with the principles and methodologies of receptor pharmacology, cellular signaling, and assay validation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and laboratory documentation systems.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Experience with GLP/GxP standards and laboratory safety procedures is a plus.
- Experience with ion channel assays and electrophysiological techniques is a plus.
