STARC has had compounded annual growth of 25% , driving market leadership through new innovativeproduct solutions, expanding vertical markets, and a successful go-to-market direct and partner model.With the pace of growth, increased complexity and opportunity ahead, STARC requires a leader that can drive results, manage through dynamic change, and inspire the organization to drive continuous improvement.


Position Overview:


STARC Systems is on a trajectory of significant growth, and we are seeking a Vice President of Productand Services to play a crucial role in driving product innovation, scaling operations, and enhancing processes. This position will be responsible for leading the development of products and services, ensuring they meet customer needs and align with financial objectives.


The VP will also steer the company through its next phase of growth, guided by a private equity- backedthree-year plan, with a focus on expanding into new verticals and exploring service-based solutions, including rentals and logistics centers. This role will report directly to the CEO.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


•      Strategic Leadership Contribution: Serve as a key member of the Senior Leadership team, collaborating to set the strategic and operational direction for the business. Lead a team of productengineers, service personnel, and cross-functional teams in managing the full product and service solutions offering.

•      Market Insights & Growth Development: Develop a deep understanding of current and potential markets, applications, customers, and competitors within the renovation and construction industries. Address growth challenges related to technological disruptions, scaling, and process improvements to drive innovation and discipline.

•      Private Equity Strategy Alignment: Partner with private equity stakeholders to align business objectives with a 3-year growth plan, preparing for future investments and ensuring readiness to double the business.

•      New Product & Market Development: Lead the development of new products and services to meet evolving customer and market demands, including expansion into new verticals like datacenters. Evaluate innovative business cases for offerings such as rentals or service centers.

•      Testing, Certifications & Compliance: Oversee product testing, certifications, and technicalspecifications to ensure all products meet industry standards and customer expectations.

•      Stage-Gate Process Management: Manage the stage-gate process to ensure smooth progression from concept to production and implementation, delivering on time and within budget.

•      Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, andFinance teams to develop solutions that meet customer needs and financial targets throughout the product life cycle.

•      Pricing Strategy Development: Develop pricing strategies that reflect market value, assess competitive landscapes, and maximize STARC’s pricing power.

•      Educational Tools & Training: Develop educational sales tools and training programs to equip internal teams with product knowledge and ensure customer-facing teams are prepared.

•      Customer Support & Implementation: Support customer installations and implementations,providing coaching and training, while gathering market insights to refine future offerings.

•      Technology & AI Integration: Integrate AI best practices and automation into product development and operational processes, collaborating with the fractional CIO to mitigate risks and enhance cybersecurity.

•      Process Improvement & Lifecycle Management: Lead initiatives to refine internal processes,automate customer outreach, and manage the product lifecycle to optimize resource use, deadlines, and budgets.

•      Innovation & Adaptability: Drive creative problem-solving by leveraging AI-driven tools, automation, and emerging technologies to enhance product offerings and meet customer needs.


Qualifications:


•       10-15 years of experience in construction, building products, or related services (leasing, repair, logistics), leading product development, design, and management.

•       5  years of senior leadership experience driving innovation, exceeding customer expectations, and growing revenue and profitability.

•       Mechanical Engineering degree with business coursework preferred.

•       Proven expertise in product design and development (CAD/SolidWorks), and knowledge of manufacturing systems, material science, and product testing across multiple domains (metals, plastics, composites, electronics, and automation).

•       Proven strategic vision with the ability to identify opportunities, set goals, and anticipate business needs.

•       Strong project management skills, with expertise in leading cross-functional teams and overseeing the Stage Gate process to ensure products are delivered on time and within budget.

•       Collaborative mindset, continually seeking improvement, learning, and inspiring teams across functions.

•       Data-driven decision-making approach.
