Overview

Read Write Grow is seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, special education, or literacy instruction, with a commitment to fostering a structured and engaging learning environment. As a Tutor, you will provide personalized, evidence-based instruction to support students' academic growth, particularly in reading and writing.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions tailored to students' individual needs.
• Implement Orton-Gillingham-based instruction and other structured literacy approaches.
• Develop and deliver engaging, multisensory lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
• Utilize various teaching methods and learning technologies to enhance student comprehension.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing detailed feedback to parents/guardians.
• Foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment that builds student confidence and skills.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Orton-Gillingham certification (required) or extensive training in structured literacy approaches.
• Strong background in early childhood education, special education, or literacy intervention.
• Ability to adapt instruction to different learning styles and student needs.
• Proficiency in classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior.
• Familiarity with learning technology tools that support literacy development.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) for collaborating with students, families, and colleagues.
• A genuine passion for structured literacy instruction and helping students achieve reading success.
