We are seeking a dedicated Adult Education Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in adult education and possess strong communication skills to effectively engage with students. As an Adult Education Instructor, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for adult learners.
Job description
Purpose: To provide softskills and Workforce Development (job and career training), and facilitate learning activities at individual or classroom sites. Programming will be contextualized to specific career pathways & positions in order to prepare adult students for work in entry-level positions. We do pay for lesson planning.
Instruction and Assessment
- Provide adult learner instruction as directed
- Provide instruction contextualized to various Career Pathways
- Create and deliver lesson plans to a multi-level class based upon curriculum provided
- Provide student support, conducting conferences with students and attending support meetings as needed
- Refer students to other Reading Connections programs to support student progress
Record Keeping, Documentation and Reporting
· Maintain student records (paper files and in database)
- Submit timely, accurate and complete reports as requested
- Provide information, and data on instructional status as requested
Training and Development
- Complete all assigned training activities
- Identify and attend other development opportunities as approved
Other Related Duties - as assigned
Experience and Educational Requirements
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in related field (education, literacy, TESOL, adult education, etc.) or two-year degree with sufficient experience to meet instructional aims
- 1 year or more experience providing adult education instruction or other small group instruction
- Experience teaching basic math
- Learner centered philosophy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to conduct effective group presentations and/ public speaking skills
- Ability to work with diverse groups and individuals including individuals with learning disabilities, poor educational backgrounds, etc.
- General computer literacy to accomplish duties and responsibilities
- Past experience in the area of manufacturing (preferred)
