Job Purpose Customer Service Representative/Forklift Operators are responsible for accurate processing of orders, RMAs, and other transactions. They ensure timely, accurate, and thorough handling of the product as it is delivered to the customer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Search database to locate and interpret information critical to order processing.
- Accurately and thoroughly enter orders for all customers in a timely manner.
- Process cash, account, and counter sales. Assist showroom sales. Correctly file corresponding paperwork.
- Schedule deliveries within company terms and conditions. Work with distribution to meet corporate delivery standards.
- Manage open orders and backorders. Maintain due dates for open orders.
- Accurately create, process, and complete Return Materials Authorizations (RMAs).
- Maintain constant communication with yard and management regarding customer/product issues and receive and communicate information in a professional, informative, and instructive manner.
- Thoroughly understand the installation process and product usage.
- Create product labels to accurately identify inventory.
- Participate in inventory and cycle counting.
- Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move to ensure timely and complete delivery to the customer.
- Operate a forklift to load/unload trucks, flatbeds, and trailers.
- Manually load or unload materials from pallets, skids, cars, trailers, or other transport vehicles.
- Operate RF scanner to manage orders and inventory.
- Pick, pull, and stage inventory in a warehouse or yard setting.
- Train new associates for outside yard/warehouse position.
- Vigorous compliance with all SOPs, company policies, procedures, and performance standards. Help control expenses in any area of the company at all times.
- Follow any other instructions, and perform any other related duties, as assigned by supervisor.
Education, Knowledge, and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to use various software including ERP system, Excel, and other Microsoft Office products to perform various customer transactions.
- Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to connect with others, build trust, and be accountable for the customer experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and naturally persuasive.
- Forklift certification required.
- Ability to estimate projects with material calculations.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Work Environment: Office, warehouse, and yard environment. Exposure to noise, fumes, dust, and weather while outside of office.
Physical Demands: The employee is to occasionally stand, walk, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; regularly sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; speak and hear. The employee must be able to lift 95 lbs. without assistance.
