- Maintains the exterior of buildings and grounds including, but not limited to, power washing, weeding, and clean up.
- Mows and trims grass and trims, fertilizes, waters, removes, and plants trees and shrubs.
- Removes dirt, rubbish and refuse from grounds.
- Repairs and performs preventive maintenance on parking lots, roads and sidewalks.
- Drives trucks and hauls materials, supplies and dirt.
- Services and repairs grounds keeping equipment.
- Reports safety or operational problems.
- Monitors work operations to ensure compliance with prescribed specifications, quality standards, jurisdictional requirements and schedule commitments.
- Provide technical guidance and direction to lower-level personnel.
- Uses hand tools, spray equipment, motorized and gas operated equipment to complete assigned tasks.
- Mulches around trees, shrubs and plantings.
- Cuts down trees, trims/removes branches and grinds stumps.
- Assist in preparing athletic fields for sports activities; measure and layout field lines, bases and goal nets; maintain the surrounding landscape.
- Perform all duties associated with snow/ice removal, including but not limited to, shoveling snow, operating snowplows, chipping ice, salting walkways and parking areas, etc.
- Can be assigned to fill other positions including, but not limited to, custodial or general maintenance.

Reports to: Director of Facilities and/or his designee
Position Rate: $23.93 per hour
Position Goal: Performs routine grounds and building maintenance work. Work involves caring for and maintaining the appearance of grounds and gardens and maintaining and repairing groundskeeping tools, supplies and equipment. Selects and applies appropriate pesticides and herbicides for weed and insect control.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Other duties may be assigned.
