- Develop programs and activities designed to engage families in improving student achievement.
- Help teachers and other staff members develop strong partnerships with families and enhance communication between parents and families and the school staff.
- Develop and implement effective family involvement strategies and activities to empower students and their families.
- Take part in opportunities for professional development.
- Participate in and support school and district activities and programs for families.
- Help to recruit community partners to become part of the school and district’s family involvement program.
- Make home visits and telephone calls to parents as deemed necessary by building administrator.

Position Title: Parent Outreach Assistant Full-time, 10-month
Rate of Pay: $15.00/hr
Reports To: Building Principal
Position Goal: To assist the Principal with activities to engage parents in the educational process of their children.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Ability to think and act in ways that respect ethnic, cultural, and linguistic diversity. Knowledge and experience as an assistant or other voluntary experience in school building. Bilingual – English/Spanish required.
