Position Overview:
As an Educator/Docent, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering dynamic, hands-on, inquiry-based STEM education. From leading field trips to guiding birthday party experiments, you’ll create memorable learning experiences while ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all visitors. This flexible, part-time role offers up to 25 hours per week, with schedules varying based on programming needs and your availability.
What You’ll Do:
- Engage & Educate: Lead hands-on STEM investigations during field trips, after-school programs, public hours, special events, and outreach programs.
- Inspire Curiosity: Guide visitors through exhibits, encouraging exploration and discovery through inquiry-based learning.
- Create Joyful Experiences: Bring science to life at birthday parties, scouting events, and more — making every moment exciting and educational.
- Promote Safety: Ensure a secure environment for all participants, maintaining safety protocols and being ready to handle unexpected challenges with a calm, adaptable approach.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- At least 1 year of teaching or educational experience.
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods (sometimes up to 6 hours) during busy days, though not every shift will require this.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 lbs when needed, such as setting up exhibits or classroom materials.
- Clearances: PA State Police, Childline Child Abuse, and FBI Fingerprint background checks.
- Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply!
