How You Will Make an Impact
The Application Engineering Manager will lead and develop the Application Engineering team along with Specials Estimating and Order Entry. This role is responsible for the on-time delivery of accurate custom application specifications, quotes and orders to meet customers' needs.
The Nuts and Bolts
Manage the daily workload of Application Engineers, Estimators and Order Entry team members
Provide leadership and accountability for achieving engineering objectives in cost, quality, delivery, performance, and safety
Maintain the process and standards for specifying and quoting customer needs
Maintain quote accuracy and profitability standards
Report on department KPI's and project status
Collaborate with customers and sales team members to ensure needs are met in a timely manner
Responsible for the accuracy of information being provided to internal and external customers
Responsible for leading the organization and success of pre-build and pre-inspection meetings with our operations facilities
Manage the travel schedule for the Application Engineers
Responsible for compliance and regulation adherence
Determine staffing requirements, interview, hire, train, and develop new employees
Ensure engineering staff provides customer support before, during, and after the sale
Create and modify 3D models and AutoCAD drawings for assemblies, parts, schematics, etc.
May perform structural analysis for new and existing engineered components
Required Credentials
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum five (5) years of engineering management experience required
Project management experience preferred
Experience with quotations and order entry preferred
After-market automotive system design experience preferred
Hydraulic and pneumatic system experience preferred
Solidworks
AutoCAD
MS Officeand Excel
Technical Writing
Effective oral and written communication; excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills
The ability to collaborate with a multi-department team
