Position Summary :

The Sr. Manager, Supplier Compliance is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive food safety strategies across the ingredient (condiment) and packaging supply chain. This role ensures compliance with all relevant food safety regulations, including the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), for supplier processing facilities. While Agricultural Operations oversees cooler operations and Manufacturing Quality manages the four Ready Pac manufacturing facilities, this position focuses specifically on supplier food safety.

As a key member of the Corporate Quality Leadership Team, the Sr. Manager will lead several critical functions, including :

  • Conducting supplier risk assessments.
  • Performing supplier audits and approving new suppliers.
  • Investigating Vendor Non-Compliance Reports (VNCRs) and managing corrective action follow-ups.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintaining supplier documentation within the Supplyline system.

The Sr. Manager will collaborate closely with the Supply Chain, Innovation & Development teams, and Ready Pac facility Quality Assurance teams to foster ingredient supplier improvements in food safety and quality. This role is pivotal in implementing strategies that enhance supplier programs and performance.

Additionally, the Sr. Manager of Food Safety will serve as a member of the Corporate Crisis Management Team, contributing to the organization’s preparedness and response to potential crises.

Primary Duties :

  • Lead the Food Safety effort to include developing strategies, objectives, and priorities.
  • Ensure tight linkage to higher-level Supply Chain and enterprise-wide priorities.
  • Ensure food safety needs are built into key cross functional processes from concept through commercialization.
  • Prepare the organization for heightened regulatory expectations by developing enhanced quality and food safety programs across the supply chain.
  • Identify areas of opportunity and develop, simplify, and optimize quality and food safety programs across the enterprise.
  • Leverage continuous improvement tools and industry best practices to improve quality and food safety processes and alignment across the enterprise.
  • Represent Food Safety to all business teams and serve as a conduit for information. Improve visibility to performance and business team needs.
  • Transform data into meaningful information by developing new metrics and define activities that will drive improvement.
  • Interact effectively at all levels within the organization, influence key stakeholders, and constructively manage opposition.
  • Provide thought leadership within the broader organization.
  • Works closely with cross functional teams to ensure the programs are efficient and appropriate for quality and food safety
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Expertise on quality and food safety systems for food manufacturing.
  • Experience in the Produce and Fresh- Cut industry is a plus.
  • Must have at least 10 years of previous food Quality Assurance manufacturing and food safety, with a minimum of a B.S. degree in Food Microbiology or Food Science, or other related fields.
  • Must be an expert with ingredient supply chain audits, GMPs, etc.
  • Ability to meet short deadlines
  • Familiar with GFSI schemes for food manufacturing facilities.
  • Ability to manage people in the implementation of quality / food safety programs in multiple facilities.
  • Communication skills (verbal and written) with all to achieve pro-active working relations, especially with vendors and customers.
  • Must be computer literate.
