Production Team Member

Position Summary

Production Team Member, will report directly to the team leader of their given department. Depending on the task, this role will work closely with the creation of our products along with the packaging, and preparation for shipment. Ability to cooperate with a team for the common goal and take direction are essential qualities for this position. A strong foundation in reliability will be established previously during the new hire phase. Knowledge of the seafood industry, and our product flow is important.

Primary Responsibilities

• The ability to follow direction consistently and repeatedly
• Able to effectively communicate issues as they arise with their Team Leader/Supervisor
• Has a thorough understanding of expectations and requirements
• Must be able to work on a team
• Must have a sense of urgency in work and reinforce proficiency with given tasks
• Comply with all food safety and quality control requirements
• Comply with all company health & safety requirements
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all sanitation procedures
• Able to accurately and reliably keep paperwork necessary to their position
• Other duties as assigned by their Supervisor or Plant Manager – role may evolve as Ready Prepared Foods evolves depending on production lines

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

• Experience in food manufacturing or seafood industry preferred
• Excellent attention to detail, communication & time management skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and take direction is essential
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed during busy season
• Basic proficiency in English, French, Spanish or Portuguese is required to complete mandatory training.
• Working knowledge of lobster/seafood industry a plus

Physical Requirements

• Lifting requirement - Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Standing requirement - Prolonged periods standing and walking
• Manual dexterity requirement – ability to coordinate two or more limbs (two arms, or two legs or one leg and one arm) to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
• Trunk strength requirement – must have ability to use core abdominal and lower back muscles to support the body over time without fatiguing.
• Plant environment - Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the production plant (reduced temperatures and/or wet production conditions).
