Position Core Profile :

The Mulch Crew Member is responsible for supporting the operation of mulch blower equipment to deliver mulch materials across residential and commercial job sites. The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, and capable of performing tasks efficiently while maintaining safety standards. This role requires physical labor, attention to safety, and the ability to travel for up to two weeks at a time to locations such as Nashville, TN; Huntsville, AL; Atlanta, GA; Columbus, OH; and Cleveland, OH . Per diem reimbursement is provided during travel assignments.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Support : Assists in the operation of mulch blower trucks and equipment to apply mulch and similar materials; load and unload mulch and bark into blower truck hopper; use hoses to distribute materials evenly and per project specifications; support routine maintenance checks to ensure equipment is clean and in proper working conditions; maintain clean, organized work areas at job sites and within company vehicles
Quality and Safety Assurance : Safely maneuver and manage hoses while navigating work areas; follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and adherence to company safety guidelines
Team Coordination : Communicate with equipment operators and team members to ensure accurate and efficient mulch placement; Collaborate with laborers and supervisors to meet project schedules and goals

Requirements :

Experience and Qualifications :

Education, Knowledge, and Experience :

Education : High School diploma or equivalent

Industry Experience : Prior experience in landscaping, construction, or outdoor labor-intensive roles is a plus

Skills and Qualifications :

Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs frequently and perform physical tasks

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)

Willingness to learn and operate specialized equipment

Ability to pass a drug test and background check

A valid driver’s license is preferred but not required

Working Conditions and Availability Disclosure :

Flexibility and willingness to work non-standard business hours and days as needed required.

Regular exposure to both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to a wide range of weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.

Requires moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 50 lbs. frequently, walking, and working on uneven terrain. Potential exposure to loud noise, air pollution, allergens, dust, pollen, insects, and other naturally occurring hazards. Potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp objects, and other physical hazards common to landscaping and equipment operation.
