POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is pivotal in supporting our US Warfighters and The AbilityOne program, contributing to ReadyOne Industries' mission. The Government Contracts Compliance Administrator ensures ReadyOne Industries' adherence to all government contract requirements and regulations. This role is the specialist between the organization and its federal customers, providing guidance on compliance and contract administration. The clerk will work closely with internal teams to plan, develop, and implement policies and procedures related to government contracts while aligning these activities with the company's objectives. The role also implements initiatives to streamline contract processes and ensure continuous improvement. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk plays a crucial role in managing the flow of goods within the organization. This position is responsible for overseeing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, coordinating logistics, and maintaining inventory control. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk ensures all shipments are handled efficiently and in compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Generate and maintain shipping records, including packing slips, bills of lading, and customs documentation when applicable.
- Track outbound shipments, resolve transportation issues, and ensure on-time delivery.
- Verify outgoing shipments align with order specifications and quality standards.
Receiving Operations
- Inspect and accept incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and invoices.
- Document and report any damages, discrepancies, or shortages to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure received materials are properly labeled, stored, and entered into the inventory system.
- Coordinate with the inventory and production teams to maintain accurate stock records.
Inventory & Documentation Management
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of shipments, receipts, and inventory transactions.
- Assist with periodic inventory audits and cycle counts to verify stock accuracy.
- Identify and communicate any discrepancies in inventory levels or shipping/receiving processes.
Collaboration & Customer Service
- Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve shipping and receiving issues.
- Provide status updates on shipments and deliveries to relevant departments.
- Address any concerns related to shipment tracking, order fulfillment, or material availability.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all safety protocols for material handling, lifting, and operating warehouse equipment.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and applicable shipping regulations.
- Handle hazardous materials per regulatory guidelines if applicable
Education & Experience
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- At least one year of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow shipping instructions and safety procedures.
- Basic knowledge of freight coordination and logistics.
- Proficiency in record-keeping, data entry, and inventory management.
- Familiarity with shipping and inventory management software (e.g., ERP or warehouse systems) is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Primarily warehouse-based, with occasional office work for documentation and coordination.
- Regular exposure to warehouse equipment, forklifts, and moving materials.
- Requires standing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
