POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is critical in supporting ReadyOne Industries' mission to serve the US Warfighter and the AbilityOne program. The MRO and Tool Crib Technician will drive recruitment efforts to meet workforce demands and ensure ReadyOne’s cultural values of accountability, diversity, honesty, collaboration, empathy, innovation, passion, and effective communication are reflected in the hiring process. The MRO and Tool Crib Technician is responsible for managing, maintaining, and overseeing the inventory of tools, equipment, and parts needed for maintenance and repair activities in a manufacturing or industrial setting. This includes ensuring tools and materials are available, well-maintained, and properly stored to support the smooth operation of the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement strategies that ensure operational activities align with ReadyOne's cultural behaviors of accountability, diversity, honesty, collaboration, empathy, innovation, passion, and effective communication.
- Adhere to and execute company policies and procedures while driving continuous improvement across all operational processes.
MRO Inventory Management:
- Manage the MRO inventory, including ordering, receiving, storing, and distributing tools, parts, and supplies required for maintenance activities.
- Perform routine stock checks and monitor the usage of tools and supplies, ensuring availability for maintenance teams.
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials or tools in a timely manner to avoid shortages or excess stock.
Tool Crib Operations:
- Organize and maintain the tool crib, ensuring tools are in good working condition, clean, and properly stored.
- Inspect and maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are calibrated and functional as required by maintenance teams.
- Issue and receive tools, parts, and equipment to/from employees, ensuring proper documentation for each transaction.
- Perform periodic audits of tool inventory to ensure accuracy of stock levels and condition of tools.
Maintenance Support:
- Assist maintenance personnel by preparing and providing tools, parts, and materials required for repair or replacement.
- Ensure all tools are returned to the tool crib after use and properly accounted for.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure the availability of necessary supplies for scheduled or emergency maintenance.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and practices in handling tools, equipment, and materials.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials or chemicals in compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the tool crib and storage areas to minimize risk and support efficient operations.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory transactions, tool repairs, and maintenance requests.
- Report any defective or damaged tools or equipment to the supervisor or appropriate personnel for repair or replacement.
- Provide regular reports on tool inventory levels, usage patterns, and any issues with tool availability or condition.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in a related field preferred).
- Knowledge of Windows programs including excel worksheets. Experience in MRO inventory management, tool crib operations.
- Familiarity with industrial tools, equipment, and materials used in manufacturing or maintenance environments.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of MRO inventory systems and software (e.g., CMMS systems, inventory management software) is desirable.
- Ability to lift and move heavy tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work well within a team.
- Basic knowledge of safety procedures and OSHA standards.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and carry tools and equipment up to [weight limit].
- Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work in a warehouse or industrial environment with exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations.
Work Environment:
