Reagan Outdoor Advertising is a leading out-of-home company based in Salt Lake City, Utah, providing an advertising medium that includes traditional billboards and digital advertising across multiple markets in the United States. In business for over 50 years, Reagan Outdoor is a large privately-held company with a small family business feel. Reagan Outdoor is currently looking for an In-House Deputy Corporate Counsel for our Indianapolis office to support our high performing legal team. This position will report directly to the Corporate Counsel, based in Indianapolis, who is responsible for all legal matters company-wide. This position will also have direct contact with C-suite executives of the company.
This role will primarily handle litigation matters, both in the management of outside counsel and actively handling litigation cases with the oversight of the Corporate Counsel. Additionally, you will also learn how to be a generalist, touching numerous areas of law across multiple markets for the company. This role will quickly expand to expose you to areas such as asset acquisitions/divestitures, land use regulations, landlord-tenant law, contracts, title, corporate governance, real estate transactions and constitutional law issues. You will work closely with the Corporate Counsel on a daily basis to address the company’s legal needs while continuing to build the legal department and establish processes and procedures for its efficient operations.
Responsibilities
· Responsible for litigation case management, including acting as first-chair in various litigation matters, drafting complaints, and answers, handling discovery, including taking and defending depositions, motion practice and conducting trials.
· Responsible for managing outside counsel for assigned cases, ensuring legal theories are consistent with the Company’s vision, and seeking new outside counsel, where appropriate, to handle complex matters.
· Draft legal documents including commercial contracts, leases, real estate documents, confidentiality/non-disclosure agreements, corporate formation/governance documents and filings, collateral documents, and correspondence.
· Conduct legal and factual research.
· Some administrative work – prepares files, drafts correspondence, updates/maintains case management process and other similar duties.
· Interact with real estate departments and General Managers across multiple markets to prioritize legal issues within each group.
· Some travel required.
Qualifications
· Undergraduate Degree required.
· Juris Doctor Degree required.
· Admission to Indiana Bar, required.
· Ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of direct litigation experience, with some first-chair experience.
· Positive Attitude and high degree of integrity, ethics and dedication to meeting and exceeding goals.
· Eligible for waiver into the following state bars: Georgia, Iowa, Minnesota, Tennessee, Texas & Utah, desired. ***Generally, requires a UBE score of 270 or active practice 5 of the past 7 years***
Salary : $105,000 - $135,000
