Job Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance tasks to ensure the efficient, safe, and compliant operation of all equipment and systems within a Safe Quality Food (SQF) and USDA-regulated food processing facility. This role plays a critical part in maintaining production efficiency and food safety standards. The shift is 7:00am-3:30pm. Monday-Friday. Direct Hire!
Responsibilities:
- Preventive Maintenance
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Inspect, test, and maintain machinery and equipment according to the preventive maintenance program.
- Document all preventive maintenance activities and findings.
Equipment Repairs:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on production equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions to minimize production downtime.
- Replace or repair defective parts using hand tools and power tools.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with SQF and USDA standards and regulations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
- Conduct safety inspections and report and hazards or violations.
Operational Support:
- Assist in the installation, modification, and upgrading of equipment and systems.
- Collaborate with production and other departments to support operational needs.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improving equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance.
- Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to log maintenance activities and track equipment performance.
- Report any issues or concerns to the Maintenance Manager.
