About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Manager to lead and manage the health and safety programs at our SQF-certified food manufacturing facility in Bolingbrook, IL. This role is essential to ensuring compliance with OSHA and food industry safety standards, driving a culture of safety throughout the plant, and maintaining best-in-class workplace practices.
This is a fully onsite position working closely with plant leadership, QA, operations, and HR.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, SQF, and company standards
- Conduct regular plant safety audits, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses
- Maintain and enforce compliance with safety training, lockout/tagout, PPE usage, and chemical safety procedures
- Investigate and report on workplace injuries and near misses, implementing corrective actions and root cause analysis
- Develop and deliver employee safety training across shifts and departments
- Serve as the site liaison during inspections and external audits
- Track safety KPIs and report trends, incidents, and performance to leadership
- Partner with QA and operations teams to align food safety with workplace safety
- Drive a proactive safety culture with employee engagement and continuous improvement
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred
- 3–5 years of safety management experience in a manufacturing or food production environment
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, SQF, GMPs, and HACCP
- Safety certification(s) such as OSHA 30 or CSP preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and training skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a must
